I learned to drive with an auto, and my parents haven't owned a manual since before I can remember. My girlfriend's dad just happened to buy a little older manual Toyota just when I'm thinking about getting a manual for my next car.
After a bunch of stalls and bunny-hop starts, I've got a feel for the clutch and the basics down. Now I just need to practice and get on the road. After I feel somewhat comfortable on the road I plan to go test driving.
Haha, reminds me totally of my first lesson in my parent's manual. It's easy once you get the hang of it, I know that, because they all seem to absolutely love doing it and don't want to go back to automatic. Better gas mileage is always a plus, and the car being cheaper in general. So, I wish you luck!
