Sketch subject/theme ideas

Post your ideas here for our weekly sketch subject/theme. Also express your interest in a subject already suggested here by a member and maybe we'll pick it as the next subject.

Each subject group members pick weekly will be posted by either an Administrator (or a regular) in a new thread with the start and end date in the subject line. Members will then sketch and post their art to the thread. You can upload your sketches to the Images gallery (for everyone to see) and grab the image URL to post here for all the group members to comment on. You may also use another hosting service if you wish. Please use HTML to display your images.

A few subject examples off the top of my head:

• Spring or Summer
• Robots
• Monsters
• Food
• Vampires
• Future Cars
• Final Fantasy
• Favorite Video Game Character
• Favorite Anime/Manga Character
• Yourself as a cartoon or manga character

Once we pick a subject everyone should sketch whatever pops into their head or come-up with a cleaver way to portray a subject that most people would never think of.

What does everyone want to do next? Shall we keep the "draw your surroundings" subject going until we have some submissions? Perhaps everyone isn't interested in that subject?

I'm leaving the "Sketch: What you see" subject open for everyone to try to keep practicing since it's been a slow start. I suggest trying to do at least a quick doodle of something once a week if you can.
In college my drawing class teacher required us to keep sketch journals outside of class and turn-in at least 2 a week. I think it's a good idea to push yourself to keep drawing and make it part of your weekly activities rather than a distraction.
Since you can sketch anything around you and it doesn't require inspiration, it makes for a good exercise.


So we need to pick another subject on top of that to keep this fresh. What would everyone like to try next?
